Few books come along that can slow me from my hectic pace and make me consider what I’m doing.

Crazy Love, by Francis Chan, has been one of those books. To go one step further and say there are only a few books I have ever read – out of literally hundreds – that has required me make a mid-course direction in my allegiance and in my attitude toward following Christ.

Taken directly from the Preface of Chan’s book, “This book is written for those who want more Jesus. It is for those who are bored with what American Christianity offers. It is for those who don’t want to plateau, those who would rather die before their convictions do.” Another excerpt – “Before we look at what is wrong and address it, we need to understand something. The core problem isn’t the fact that we’re lukewarm, halfhearted, or stagnant Christians. The crux of it all is why we are this way. It is because we have an inaccurate view of God. We see Him as a benevolent Being who is satisfied when people manage to fit Him into their lives in some small way. We forget that God never had an identity crisis. He knows that He’s great and deserves to be the center of our lives. Jesus came humbly as a servant, but He never begs us to give Him some small part of ourselves. He commands everything from His followers.”

This study won’t be for every one who calls Jesus, Lord. Some are unable to make this type of commitment in their walk with Him at this time. However, for those who will, I am so excited for the life change that awaits you. Its OK if you are already involved in a church somewhere – don’t worry! Tell your pastor we won’t try to steal you!  Wouldn’t it be great if this does for you what it has done for so many and you go back to your church a different person?  With that said, however, we are actively looking for those who are disenfranchised with the church and what it means to live like a “Christian.”  We want to show you that it is, not what you’ve most likely been led to believe.  No, we’re not changing the gospel – we are taking you back to the basics of following Christ – where you give Him everything, and following Him means everything.
